International Day of Monuments – Kopošići

On the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, the ICOMOS National Committee in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in an event dedicated to the cultural and historical heritage of the Kopošići necropolis and the Old Bosnian Town of Dubrovnik, which was held on April 19, 2025.

Organized by the Old Bosnian Town of Dubrovnik Foundation, the ICOMOS National Committee in BiH, and the Coordination Team of the EU project 'Stećci' (Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Sarajevo), an engaging and comprehensive program was prepared. Participants who addressed the audience included the association’s president Dr. Maja Pličanić, the assembly president Dr. Elša Turkušić Jurić, and association members Dr. Edin Bujak and Perica Mijatović. In the natural setting of the newly opened amphitheater near the princely necropolis of Kopošići, discussions were held on the achievements of the Old Bosnian Town of Dubrovnik Foundation to date, ongoing projects such as 'Stećci and Cultural Routes' were presented, and exhibitions and visits to the listed sites declared national monuments were organized.
