Ethical Principles
The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) is a non-governmental organization aimed at promoting the preservation of cultural heritage (monuments, groups of buildings, and sites) in both their tangible and intangible aspects, maintaining their full diversity and authenticity.
ICOMOS achieves its goal through a network of members and committees, through its activities, and in collaboration with other organizations. ICOMOS members share common principles an
reflect the diversity of specializations and competencies in the field of cultural heritage conservation.
The Ethical Principles of ICOMOS define the responsibilities of ICOMOS members and its bodies with regard to the preservation of cultural heritage, as well as in relation to ICOMOS itself.
