ICOMOS
ICOMOS (the International Council on Monuments and Sites) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of cultural heritage worldwide. ICOMOS is the only global non-governmental organization that systematically focuses on the application of scientific techniques, theories, and methodologies in the protection of both tangible and intangible elements of cultural heritage.
ICOMOS operates as an international network of experts and professionals who work together to safeguard heritage. As a diverse membership organization encompassing a wide range of heritage-related specialist fields, the strength and influence of ICOMOS stem from continuous interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and professional dialogue, which shape all of its approaches and activities.
Members of ICOMOS collaborate with the aim of advancing the conservation of cultural heritage. This involves the continual review and improvement of standards and techniques adapted to different forms of heritage, including monuments, buildings, groups of structures, sites, places, and cultural landscapes.
REGISTRATION of the National Committee ICOMOS in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The international ICOMOS, at the Executive Committee meeting in Paris in January 2007, accepted and ratified the National Committee of ICOMOS in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina registered the Association National Committee ICOMOS in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Book I of the Register under number 771 in Sarajevo on January 9, 2009. From the date of issuance of the Decision, the Association has the freedom to operate throughout the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
